Thank you to Judge Kari Agotness, Attorney Robert Fleming, and State’s Attorney Garret Fontaine for guiding the Cavalier High School Seniors through this year’s Mock Trial as part of their Problems of Democracy class.
This year’s case was modeled on the infamous Glensheen murders which occurred in Duluth, MN in 1977.
The students learned due process up close while applying the foundational Constitutional principles they have studied all year. The prosecution and defense both ensured that every shred of evidence was examined and cross examined. The jury deliberated passionately but thoughtfully while deciding if the prosecution had proven their case beyond a reasonable doubt.
In the end, the defendant was found Not Guilty of murder & burglary. More importantly, the seniors came away with a much better appreciation of the finest criminal justice system in the world.

We are very excited to announce the hiring of our new Cavalier Tornadoes Head Boys' Basketball Coach, Mr. Josh Worley!
Welcome to the Tornadoes family, and Congratulations!

Congratulations to Mrs. Jaszczak and her 8th grade math students on their impressive 92% proficiency score on their state test! This took a lot of hard work and dedication! Great job to all!!

Happy Lunch Heroes Day! We appreciate the hard work kitchen staff puts in to provide nutritious meals to our students and staff.

Book Tasting in 5th Grade ELA as a relaxing day after a week of hard work during state testing. Students visited each table that held a different genre of books. They got to “taste” (preview) the titles in these genres to build their reading preferences. Many titles were recorded for future reads. The books selected were teacher favorites, new titles, and tried and true reads that capture the reader’s attention.
More pictures on the Cavalier PTO page.

As part of our animal science unit dairy section, students participated in a cheese tasting lab. They had to guess the cheese based on taste, texture, and appearance. Swiss was hands down their least favorite and pepper jack, gouda, and havarti all went over well!

Intro to Ag students were visited by soil scientist Alan of NRCS for a review of hands on soil science topics. We appreciated his visuals and knowledge!

I've been so excited for this moment, and it is finally here! Mia was a reader, and I could see that week one. However, I don't think she felt the same way. When she was a little over 600,000, she mentioned she'd like to get her million but could never do it. I was like...why not? Are you serious? At the rate you are reading, it is very doable. So, off she went. The last two weeks have been nonstop reading because she WANTED it that bad. She could sense it becoming a reality. Her determination is why I do what I do. Congrats to Mom as well because it helps so much to have a lifelong reader modeling these habits in everyday life. :)

23-24 Yearbook ordering. Order forms are in the office or you can order online here: https://ybstore.friesens.com/760336
Grades PK-5 will have order forms sent home. Thank you!

There are still spots open on both the football and basketball cheer teams for next year! However, the football cheer team needs to be determined as soon as possible due to uniform orders. No try-out is required this year and the football cheer schedule can work around other fall sports schedules. Contact Miss Hunter by May 1 if interested in either football or basketball cheer!

Eight...Nine...and partners in crime! The eighth graders had to match the double threat that seventh grade put out last week. Ruby and Zander tipped the scale and added another two million to our grand total. These two have taken multiple reading challenges throughout their three years of middle school, and I will miss that drive next year. Congrats to these students and their families for demonstrating strong habits that will surely turn into lifelong rewards!

Elementary Track & Field information!

The little red truck will be pulling into Cavalier soon. This year's Missoula Children's Theater production will be Jack and the Beanstalk. Auditions: May 13th. Shows: May 17th & 18th.

To kick off our Animal Science Unit, Intro to Ag students got hands on experience with a cow-calf pair exploring external anatomy. Students also looked at common calving supplies and learned their uses. Thank you Josh Zaharia for taking time to share with the class.
