Great learning opportunity today for students in grades 3-8 in our community! Thank you to our community leaders, HS students, and Marketplace for Kids for putting on a great event!
CTE students in grades 9-11 will be attending the Summer Internship Fair in Grafton on April 16. Students will need business professional clothes and printed copies of their resumes. It is a requirement of Cavalier CTE classes to attend this internship fair.

Before discussing day 4, I need to close out day 3. After all the excitement of Hill Day, I forgot to mention that our students were treated to an evening of musical theatre at the historic Ford’s Theatre. The students watched the stage adaptation of the 1992 movie, Sister Act, in the shadow of the infamous presidential box where John Wilkes Booth shot President Lincoln on April 15, 1865. For many students, this was their first exposure to the theatre, and they enjoyed the experience.
Day 4, our last full day in the Capital, started solemnly as students walked the nation’s most hallowed ground, Arlington National Cemetery. Students saw first-hand the magnitude of sacrifice required to maintain our freedom across the generations. They saw the rows and rows of white stones that mark the graves of nearly 400,000 patriots. The students also watched the changing of the guard at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier and visited the Marine Corps Monument, also known as the Iwo Jima Memorial.
After Arlington, the students visited the Adams-Morgan neighborhood of Washington and ate lunch in one of the many eateries. The students ended their day and week at the White House and the Treasury Department, considering how citizens can interact with the executive branch of our government.

Day 3 in Washington was a big day for our students, today they were going to put what they have learned about government and history to use while meeting with our Senators and Representative.
The students started the day by learning to navigate D.C.'s metro system. They did great on the subway to arrive at the day's first event; speaking with a Cavalier High School Alum on her journey from Cavalier to the Nation' Capital. They enjoyed their time with her and she presented the four military members with their first challenge coins.
Then it was onto the Hill for meetings with Senators Hoeven & Cramer and Representative Fedorchak. They were wonderful meetings.
Parents! Your young men and women did amazing asking their elected representatives great questions.
It was a long, cold, windy, and exhausting day but the students were really excited about having interacted with their elected leaders.
Day 2 in the Nation's Capital has dawned a beautiful spring day and the places many have only seen in pictures are become tangible. Yesterday the student got to visit the National Portrait Gallery, while this morning they are focusing on the War Monuments, including considering the sacrifice of those from North Dakota in WWII. The students are having a great time. Meanwhile, the teachers ore on the hunt for Lincoln's Assassin. Updates to follow...
Day 1 on the Class of 2025's Close Up trip to Washington D.C. After a snowy slushy start flying out of Fargo we arrived safely and now our students are fully engaged in the program with their peers from across the nation. Stay tuned for daily updates...
Intro to Ag enjoyed a busy field trip day to American Crystal in Drayton in the morning and True North Equipment in Grafton in the afternoon. Students toured the American Crystal plant and received an in depth tour and explanation of the processing of an important crop to our area. At True North, students were introduced to different precision ag technologies and even got to experience them first had while driving a tractor! Thank you to American Crystal and True North for hosting our students!
**HOSA 2025 Spring Leadership Conference** Eight Health Science students represented Cavalier School at the HOSA Spring Leadership Conference, competing in eight different events: First Aid/CPR, Nurse Assisting, Pharmacy Science, Phlebotomy, Medical Math, Medical Terminology, Behavior Health, and Health Career Display.
Their hard work and dedication led to some great results, including four Top 10 finishes:
- Izzy – Top 10 in Phlebotomy
- Emersen – Top 10 in Nurse Assisting (one of the most competitive events)
- Ava – 3rd place in Medical Math
- Ava – 1st place in Pharmacy Science
Beyond competition, students took part in hands-on experiences with VR healthcare and simulators, attended workshops, and joined breakout sessions. They stepped out of their comfort zones, took on new challenges, and learned valuable skills. It was a great experience full of growth, learning, and great memories!

Notice is hereby given that the deadline for filing to have your name printed on the ballot
for the Cavalier Public School Board election is March 31st, 2025, by 4:00 p.m. The following offices are up for election:
School Board Member – Rural Zone currently held by Courtney Ford (3 Year Term)
School Board Member – City Zone currently held by Rachel Ramsay (3 Year Term)
A candidate for a school district board member office must prepare and sign a document stating the candidate’s name and the position for which the individual is a candidate, and an SFN 10172 Statement of Interests form. Both documents must be filed with the school district business manager for Cavalier Public School by the above filing deadline date and time. All forms are available from the school district business manager’s office at Cavalier Public School or by calling (701) 265-8417.
