This week the second graders in Mrs. Hay's class explored the fascinating world of catapults by building their own. They conducted experiments to discover which objects would travel the farthest when launched.
Cavalier Public School will dismiss at 3:35 today. There will be no ESP. Buses will not run. Kids will need to go to their storm homes if needed. There will be no after school practices or activities. Please feel free to pick up your kids early. Drive safe and be warm!

Recent ag ed activities: space ag field trip to UND (intro to ag and botany classes), crop and seed identification (ag 6 & 7), germinating and growing bean plants (ag 6 & 7), soil scientist speaker (ag 6, 7, and intro classes), soil texturing (intro), creating edible wheat spikelets (botany), and monocot and dicot seed anatomy (botany).
Congratulations to Jonas Kuhn for receiving a nomination from Senator Hoeven to attend West Point Military Academy. Jonas will now go to the next step of applying to West Point. Congratulations Jonas and good luck as you move forward in this process!

Christmas Concert Update: The Christmas concert for all students PK-12 will be on December 16th at 6:30PM. The original date for Elementary students has been cancelled. The concerts will be combined and will plan to conclude by around 8:00PM.

Parent-Teacher Conferences Information for Thursday, November 7th from 4:00-8:30PM. All parents please stop by the office before attending conferences. We will have midterm report cards for grades 6-12 and ask parents to update contact information for all grades.
Grades PK-3 in classrooms: Scheduled times for conferences were sent home with your child.

Mrs. Hay's 2nd graders explored the states of matter by making butter! Through this hands-on activity, they observed how solid, liquid, and gas states change. While the butter-making process was fun and educational, only a few students felt brave enough to taste their creation.
Students in Basic Patient Care class created a Pumpkin Pathology Clinic. They researched a disease or disorder, made an infographic poster about that condition, and painted and decorated pumpkins to represent a patient with that ailment. They set up a clinic for their classmates and other students in the school to come and diagnose the medial mysteries of their pumpkins!
Congratulations to all Junior High teams that participated in the Academic Olympic Event in Grafton.
Both Cavalier teams placed in the top 5 and Cavalier Orange took first and is bringing home the traveling trophy.
Also, thank you to our High School team. As the winners of the competition last year, they helped by moderating the event.
