To kick off our Animal Science Unit, Intro to Ag students got hands on experience with a cow-calf pair exploring external anatomy. Students also looked at common calving supplies and learned their uses. Thank you Josh Zaharia for taking time to share with the class.

April 11: Not ONE, but TWO...million that is! Seventh graders Logan Thompson and Makayla Hager both achieved their Million Word status today! Both of these students have become voracious readers before my very eyes since entering middle school two years ago. Their overall academic growth is proof that reading practice pays off, and it has been such a joy watching it unfold. Congrats to these students and their families on a job well done! Proud of you!

Congratulations to Cavalier's hs music students on a great day at region 3 small groups music contest. They brought home 10 stars including 2 Outstanding Performance awards.
Cavalier High School was ranked number 11 for the best public high schools in North Dakota. The majority of the score is based off of academics, culture, clubs, resources, and community surveys. Thank you community, staff, and students for making Cavalier Public School great!

For the past few weeks intro to ag students have been working on building our tower garden (thank you Public Health!) and getting our sprouted greens planted. The 5th graders love having the unit housed in their classroom!

Thank you Jackie Klein from North Star Community Credit Union for visiting with the 5th grade about money management for financial literacy month! The students loved learning about real world skills (and money)!

Prom 2024 is here!

Mrs. Hay's second graders learned about the solar eclipse. They even made an Oreo eclipse and had Orbit gum.

2024-2025 Cavalier Public School Calendar

I've been saving our FIFTH announcement for today! We have another millionaire! On April 3rd, Isaac joined the MS Million Word Club. He is a self-directed reader who completely manages his own reading journey while tackling a variety of genres. He's not afraid of difficult novels and often gravitates towards historical topics. Congrats to both Isaac and his parents on this well-deserved recognition!

Thank you Cavalier Equipment for hosting the Intro to Ag students today! Students were introduced to common equipment used and received a basic rundown of the mechanics of how the machinery operates.

The Cavalier Education Association Scholarship is available to those meeting criteria. See informational image attached or contact Alicia Greenwood (E-mail: Alicia.greenwood@cavalierk12.org) for more information.
Elementary Spring Music Concert will be Monday, April 22, at 7pm. Students should arrive by 6:45pm. We are looking forward to sharing our music with all of you!
The Junior class spent a morning last week helping the Thrift Store move to their new location.

Cheerleading try-outs scheduled for March 27 and 28 have been changed to a cheer meeting after school on Wednesday, April 3 in Miss Hunter's room. This is NOT a try-out. Anyone in grades 9-12 next year that is interested in cheering for football or basketball should attend.

Come join the fun tonight at BINGO! Doors open at 5:00, BINGO starts at 6:00. Supper and concessions will be available.

Intro to ag students had a busy field trip day. As a follow up to our meat science unit, students visited the Hugo's meat department in Grafton. Students were given insight into what products the store carries and were able to get in more cutting practice! Later, students visited True North as part of our precision ag unit. Students learned about related career paths, various technologies, and even got to try one out by driving a tractor!

Cavalier is once again bringing our MS and HS Band and Choir students to the Pembina County Solos and Ensembles Festival is being held today at North Border - Walhalla school this year, starting at 9am today. Participants need to be to the Cavalier band room by 7:50 this morning.
A day late...but if you didn't celebrate Pi Day (3.14) yesterday, consider celebrating this important number today! Jemma Watson is our 4th Million Word MS reader for the 23-24 school year. This girl makes my job so easy as she completely manages her own reading journey, and she has been trying out a lot of new genres and authors this year. It probably helps that her mom is an avid reader as well. Congrats to Jemma and her family for adding this milestone to the family bookshelf.
