Thank you Randy & Cindy Miller of Miller's Greenhouse for hosting our botany and middle school ag classes! Students were able to get an overview of the plant starting process in a greenhouse in the spring and as a bonus, were able help plant. We can't wait to use the information in our own greenhouse!

Cavalier agriculture students enjoyed a tour of the state of the art facilities at North Dakota State University and NDSU College of Agriculture, Food Systems, and Natural Resources. Students began their tour with a visit of the meat lab and food science labs at the Peltier Complex. This was fitting as intro to ag students will begin their meats unit. Next was a tour of the AES Research Greenhouse. Botany students were able to see large scale plant sciences research and plant breeding in action. Students then ate lunch on campus with the college students. Lastly, students visited the Beef Cattle Research Complex. Students were able to interact with the research subjects (yearling bulls) and operate high end animal handling equipment. More photos on the Cavalier FFA Chapter & Agriculture Classes Facebook page. 🦬 🤘🏼

The Cavalier FFA Chapter had a great time celebrating FFA Week! ⭐️ Monday we served soda floats for the whole school. ⭐️Tuesday members received special treat bags in their lockers. ⭐️ Wednesday morning we hosted muffins & coffee with farmers. Thank you farmers for spending the morning with us, we loved it! Thank you Sparky's for the coffee! ⭐️ Wednesday lunch we hosted a fun meeting for members with pizza and charades. Thank you Farmhouse Confections for making perfectly festive cookies! ⭐️ Friday we sponsored a whole school bingo with treat prizes for winners. FFA provides students so many wonderful opportunities for agriculture and non-agriculture kids alike! What they can do and learn from experiences in FFA makes a huge impact on their futures; the skills gained are very practical. The best thing you can do to support our young chapter is encourage student and stakeholder participation!
